Now six points separate first from third and it could be anyone\u2019s for the taking in the remaining two rounds. The Mountain Gorilla Rally though was clearly dominated by Kenya\u2019s Karen Patel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Kenyan crew were sighted out as the favourite crew and they went on to stamp that with approval by dominating the two-day event from the start to the end. A monumental scare with mechanical issues threatened the crew in Stage 10 losing over 20 seconds. It was the Kenyan\u2019s third ARC victory this season. Kenya\u2019s Hamza Anwar kept himself close to the rally2 cars to settle for a solid third position overall to open his chances for another Junior title as well as an ARC2 title shot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prince Charles Nyerere finished fourth followed by Innocent Bwamiki to complete the top five ARC category.&nbsp;Yasin Nasser who retired on day one and rejoined through super rally is grateful to have finished the event claiming important points to keep him in contention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/africanrallychampionship.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/IMG_2697-scaled-1.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1029\" srcset=\"https:\/\/africanrallychampionship.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/IMG_2697-scaled-1.webp 1024w, https:\/\/africanrallychampionship.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/IMG_2697-scaled-1-300x200.webp 300w, https:\/\/africanrallychampionship.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/IMG_2697-scaled-1-768x512.webp 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Hamza Anwar and Navigator Din Adnan &#8211; Photo by Innocent Mutaawe<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nasser remains top on the ARC leaderboard but with only three points ahead of Patel.&nbsp;Patel and Khan secured the maximum points to close in on the title with 90 points. Jas Mangat who debuted his Hyundai i20 rally2 is third in the standings; only six points from the leader and three from second-placed Patel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Under the overall classification, Giancarlo Davite was fourth overall followed by Philbert Faida and Jean Claude Gakwaya who made fifth and sixth in that order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The next ARC event heads to Zambia on October 20-22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Yasin Nasser \u2013 93points<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Karan Patel&nbsp;\u2013 90<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Jas Mangat&nbsp;\u2013 87<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>by&nbsp;SHARIFAH NAMAGOBA RAMAH &#8211; kawowo Karan Patel and Tauseef Khan clinched victory in Rwanda to send the Africa Rally Championship (ARC) title chase to the wire.
