The FIA World Motorsport Council convened on February 28th and endorsed a further modification of the calendar for the 2024 Mountain Gorilla Rally in Rwanda.
The date has been rescheduled to the weekend of October 18th–20th. The event has been rescheduled to take place one week earlier than the originally stated date of October 25–27th.
Among Rwanda’s many upcoming events in 2024 are their national elections, the 2024 Mountain Gorilla Rally, the FIA General Assembly, and the international prize giving ceremony in December. A great deal of significance, really. Allowing enough time for preparation to fulfill all their obligations takes a finely tuned balancing act.
Both the Rwandan Motorsport Federation and the FIA African Rally Championship would like to express their deepest apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. A tournament that takes place in six different African countries requires meticulous calendar preparation and management. Life happens, and changes are always inevitable.
