Sunday 10th November 2013 – 17h30

Zambia's Jassy Singh, son of the former African Rally Champion, Muna Singh, is the 2013 ARC champion after finishing fourth overall in the final round of the series held in Madagascar over the weekend driving a Subaru Impreza N10.

At his only first, he becomes the youngest-ever Continental champion after disposing off Uganda's Jas Singh, who only needed to finish ahead of the Zambian driver to take the title.

Unfortunately, his car let him down on the penultimate day of the competition, denying him the chance to put his hands on the prestigious title for the first time in his career.

Surprisingly, Zambia, which would be considered as among the weaker nations in the ARC series, has now won combined ARC titles for Drivers and Navigators respectively for a record 17 times.

Jassy has given the Sikh community unprecedented publicity in the world of African Rally Championship series by becoming the third generation of ARC champions originating from the Sikh families.

First, it was Satwant Singh then followed by Muna Singh and now, Jassy Singh, all Zambians and from the same Singh family based in Lusaka.

His navigator, Dave Sihoka, has now secured the ARC Navigator Crown for the fourth time. His previous three titles were achieved with Jassy's dad, Muna Singh.

The only other contender for the title was Jas Mangat and Gihan Da Silva from Uganda who unfortunately got time barred when the cable from the main ECU came loose but they could find the problem in time.
